Just like any other thing in this world, your snorkeling set needs your tender, loving care. If you have gone snorkeling a few times already, you ought to know by now that your snorkeling equipment is your best friend underwater. Your snorkel and your mask did their part to ensure that you will always have a great underwater experience. Now it’s time for you to return the favor.

To make your snorkel set last longer, you need to take good care of each piece. Though they are inexpensive, they are still your money’s worth. Keeping your gear looking brand new will take a little effort to do, but it is going to pay off because your snorkel set will stay with you for a few more years.

If you have been snorkeling at the beach scene, you have to rid the gear from salt. To clean the mask you could use a mild detergent and tap water. Just make sure that there is no salt or sand residue left on the mask. You could use a toothbrush to brush off the dirt, the soft bristles will not scratch the mask. After that, leave your mask to dry then store it back in its case.

The most important part of your gear is your snorkel. You must always check that it does not have any holes, especially before you use it. The water might come through the holes and make you unable to breathe underwater. Wash it with warm, soapy water after you use it and let it air dry. The soapy water will clean the snorkel from grease and dirt, so that bacteria can’t stick to your gear. This is important, because most people won’t use their gear every day. When you only use it every so often, bacteria get a long period in which they can just duplicate and duplicate. Since the snorkel is the part that you put in your mouth, it is extra important for your health to keep it as clean as possible.

As for the fins, you can simply wash it in clear water then let it dry. However, if you went snorkeling in salt water, unclasp the hooks and make sure they are free of salt water. Rinse them as well. You also need to wash the boots that fit in your fins. Salt deposits will make their zippers rusty. To help maintain the shape, place the plastic formed fitters back on your fins when they are dry.

Within a matter of a few years the sport of cornhole has grown from a hillbilly sport played in the backwoods of Southwest Ohio to a national sport enjoyed by people of all backgrounds. In just a short period of time, this highly addictive, yet atrociously named sport, has become a phenomenon across the country and has even found its way into other countries; and who said American cultural imperialism was a bad thing? From its humble beginnings in Cincinnati, Ohio to an established global sport is quite a remarkable feat, and speaks to the magnetic pull this game has on anyone who tries it.

Who would believe you just a few years ago if you told them that a sport involving the tossing of corn-filled bags onto a wooden board would generate such a wild following? These cornhole game bags, along with the customized boards every serious player must own, have become regular mainstays at football games, tailgate parties and weekend BBQs from Louisville to Charlotte to Dallas and everywhere in between. Troops stationed overseas in placed like Iraq and Afghanistan have also been known to play this sport with the same enthusiasm. Cornhole tournaments have taken off in almost every major city east of the Mississippi and often include high-profile celebrities playing on behalf of their favorite charity. Highly-competitive cornhole tourneys have found their way into neighborhood block parties, school and church functions, and even company picnics. Just make sure you let your boss or pastor win; you don’t want to get fired or, worse, excommunicated! It can happen.

When multi-billion dollar companies hold cornhole tournaments in their parking lot, and participants are dressed in Armani suits, you know cornhole has come a long way. Perhaps we have been too harsh on those backwoods rednecks. Sure, they talk funny and we question their hygiene, but give them credit where credit is due. They’ve created a sport that is popular with people of all ages, income brackets, and backgrounds. The game of corn toss is also easy to learn and can be picked up in just a few minutes. The rules are simple, with very little instruction time needed. Also, because cornhole bags are so lightweight (roughly one pound each), anyone can play and not have to worry about the embarrassment that comes with missing the target by 20 feet because the object being tossed is so cumbersome and heavy (I’m looking at you Mr. Horseshoe). Once you finish laughing at the ludicrous name of this sport, pick up a few bags and give it a try yourself. It’s almost guaranteed that you’ll be an addict within ten minutes. Cornholers Anonymous (CA) is right around the corner, you’ll see!

There is always a lot of hype surrounding sporting equipment. Buy this bat because you’ll always hit a home run. These knee pads will protect you better than those ones will. These shoes are the best for whatever activity you plan. It’s hard to choose with all the options open to you.

The list of available women’s cross training shoes for all purposes goes on and on, and research can only tell you so much. Reading customer reviews will give you a better idea of which style would be best for the activity you have in mind. Most online shoe stars offer the option of leaving a review and giving a star system rating, so keep in mind that your experience could help someone else make an informed decision. You don’t have to buy the shoe online if that is something you feel uncomfortable doing, but you can check out the different sites and read the reviews before you go shopping for your own. Having more information could save you from making a bad purchase.

It is very important if you have suffered a knee injury, that you do the correct rehabilitation. You want to make sure that you come back stronger and better than before, and it can be very annoying when you are not ready to be back, and you hurt yourself even more. Knee ligament damage is very common, and there are many ways that you can injure them. First of all you need to understand the ligaments of the knee. We have the collateral ligaments, which support the lateral sides of the knee. These stop the movement from side to side. Then you have the cruciate ligaments, which form a cross inside the knee, and stop the knee from sliding backward and forward.

The next thing you should get your head around is how these get injured. There are different grades of strains, and depending on how bad it is, the number will be higher. They range from grade 1, which is just a slight strain, and you may not have many symptoms and should return back to activity quickly, to a grade 3, which is usually classified as a tear. An injury to the collateral ligaments is quite common. They usually will occur on impact, if someone hits your knee on the side, or if you have tried to twist and your knee got stuck. It is common to get a grade one strain in this area, but very important that you rehab it right away, so that you don’t do further damage in the future.

The other area that you may damage are the cruciate ligaments. You have perhaps heard of an ACL tear, this usually puts the person out for almost 9 months. This ligament stops the knee sliding forward, and it really important to knee balance. Given its area it is quite complicated to rehabilitate, and it can get annoying and difficult. You need to have patience and do the right leg workout to ensure that you get the rehab you need and get back on the park without any risks. It is very common to go back too early and end up redoing the injury, however, if you do the exercises properly, you are usually stronger than before, and are unlikely to injure the area again. The posterior cruciate ligament is not as easy to damage, it stop the knee sliding backwards. The rehabilitation to come back from this injury also does not take as long, however needs to be done properly.

Are you in the market for a baseball pitching machine? A machine like this can provide hours of fun for you and family in backyard summer get-togethers. All you need is a bat, some friends, and a little space in your yard for some awesome entertainment and baseball practice. The best brands to look at for a baseball pitching machine are Franklin Sports, Jugs Sports, Trend Sports, Zooka Sports, and ATEC. This article will provide information on all of these brands.

Franklin Sports:

A lot of the best benefits of Garmin GPS watches are things you can’t see with the naked eye. I am not talking about how a GPS watch knows your exact location anywhere on the globe or how it can be used as a GPS navigator. I am talking about the intangible benefits such as motivation, goal setting, competition, convenience and community.

Motivation can make the difference between success and failure. Garmin watches can track all the vital fitness statistics such as speed, distance, calories burnt, heart rate, elevation, heading and tons more. This information can also be uploaded to your computer where you can analyze the data over time and find any areas of weakness where you need to improve.

More important than the weakness, though, are being able to see your strengths. Using Garmin’s Training Center software you can view your results in spreadsheets and charts. It can be very motivating to see your speed, calories burned and distance on a graph all moving upward at a 45 degree angle. Having this kind of knowledge is what can keep you exercising every day always trying to make new personal records.

Being able to compete against someone who is faster and stronger than you can bring the best out of most people. With a Garmin sports watch you can compete against your previous routines and try to break specific stats such as heart rate, calories burned and speed.

Most successful individuals would agree that goal setting is a big part of their success. Using the Training Center software you can find your weaknesses and then use Garmin’s goal setting feature so you can focus on the areas that need improvement.

Convenience can make a bigger difference than you would think in maintaining an exercise program. For example, imagine if you had to drive 20 minutes to your local gym after a long day of work, compared to using an electric treadmill in the convenience of your own home. Without a Garmin watch you would have to write and calculate all your stats yourself which can be a real pain after a strenuous workout.

Training with someone who is also striving for the same objective can improve your chances of success immensely. With a Garmin watch you can use Garmin Connect, an online community of other avid athletes, where you can compare, compete and motivate each other to make new personal records.

If you’ve been paying attention to football for any length of time, you know it’s rare for one player to play more than one position on a football team – and I’m not talking about the occasional pass thrown by a running back. I’m referring to playing two positions all season long. It’s even more rare to play them so well that you lead your team in stats at both positions for that year. Having said that, if you like Miami Dolphins football trivia, you should love this question about a talented Dolphins team leader who distinguished himself, by doing just that. See if you know the answer to this mini Miami Dolphins football trivia quiz:

Question:
What full-time Miami Dolphins punter was also the team’s leading receiver for an entire year

Answer:
Larry Seiple was the Miami Dolphins full-time punter from 1967-1977. In 1969, he also led the Dolphins in receptions with 41, yards receiving with 577 and touchdown receptions with five. For what it’s worth, he was also 1-1 in passing that year for eight yards.

In my opinion, however, Seiple’s best punt was the one he didn’t kick. He was given the green light to run from punt formation whenever he wanted, but as Coach Shula told him, “You better make it!” Football fans know that running from punt formation on 4th down is a risky play because if you don’t make it, you give your opponent excellent field position.

In 1972, the Miami Dolphins were 15-0, after going undefeated during the regular season and then winning their first playoff game against Cleveland. They now faced a very tough Pittsburgh Steeler team. The Steelers were giving the Dolphins all they could handle and with the game still in doubt, Seiple came onto the field to punt. Instead, he saw that he had a chance to run from punt formation and did so, gaining 37 yards. Coach Shula said later that he noticed in film study that on certain occasions, the Steeler punt team would rush, then peel off quickly. He felt that in the right circumstance, a run from punt formation would work, and he was right. Seiple’s run kept Miami’s drive alive and the Dolphins went on to score their first touchdown of the game. They also went on to beat Pittsburgh and then the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl VII to complete the 17-0 undefeated season. And it goes without saying that their undefeated record has never been eclipsed. But if you’re a Miami Dolphins fan, you definitely already know that!

Training for cross country running can be a complicated subject. Many variables influence its success or failure. However, three very basic rules should always be followed in any running training program, including cross country running. These three basic principles are:

Moderation

Consistency

Rest

Moderation

The first basic rule training is moderation. Moderation means not following any extremes in the training program. For example, a regular distance runner should never run 100 miles in a single week’s training. Even with the best cross country running shoes, they would still risk developing a dangerous injury that would end their running careers prematurely.

Almost any level of runner can succeed with a maximum of two hours of training every day. You would only require more extended training after 5 to 10 years of running experience, if you wanted to compete at the higher levels.

Consistency

The second basic rule of training is consistency. It means doing a reasonable level of training every day. It does not mean following the same routine or doing the same workload every day. With a consistent level of training, we allow the body additional time to adapt to the stresses of training, which eases the transition into those higher stress levels.

The body loses a little bit of endurance and muscle tone after missing a few days running. But you can’t make up for that loss by tossing in a day or two of super hard training. That would do more harm that good. Any cross country runner who trains at a moderate level every day will see better results than another runner who sometimes trains really hard, yet other days skips training completely.

Rest

The third basic rule training is rest. While this is maybe the most important rule for young runners, it is the one that they most frequently ignore. An easy rule of thumb is: When in doubt, rest more. You should not schedule a hard distance workout if you are feeling weak or tired. Instead, it would be better to set aside your spike shoes, get some extra rest and maybe do a very light workout, or even skip training for the day.

More training creates extra physical stress, which requires more rest for recovery and adaptation. The body only makes its adaptations to stress when it is resting, not when it’s working. This means that without getting enough rest, you can’t fully adapt to the stress incurred during a workout, and therefore you won’t receive the full benefits of training.

A growing number of golfers, both casual and tournament-ready, are turning to golf laser rangefinders to improve their games. This bit of technology can help duffers lower their scores by helping them accurately compute just how far they are from their targets.

Of course, not all of these laser rangefinders are created equal. And while most of them have their own positives, there are certain rangefinders that are more difficult to use and more cumbersome.

The Callaway LR1200 is a quality rangefinder. But it may be outclassed by powerful rangefinders such as the Bushnell Pro 1600 or the extremely lightweight Bushnell Tour V2.

The LR1200, then, is not a bad machine. It’s just not as top-of-the-line as some of the other models available.

Here are the positives of the Callaway LR1200:

It features a backlit LCD screen, which makes it easier to read.

This rangefinder has a particularly long range, always a plus.

It is ranked as tournament legal, a bonus for competitive golfers.

On the negative side, the Callaway LR1200:

Is a bit bulky, and is one of the largest rangefinders now available.

It is also quite heavy.

The rangefinder is not all that easy to use. It can take even experienced golfers several tries to notch an accurate reading with it.

If you thought the Bushnell PinSeeker 1500 or Bushnell Pro 1600 was a large rangefinder, you might be surprised to learn that the Callaway LR1200 is even larger. However, it is a bit lighter, though it still weighs a formidable 9.8 ounces.

And while it nearly weighs the same as the two Bushnell models, the Callaway LR1200 just isn’t as easy to use. The PinSeeker models from Bushnell allow golfers to lock onto their targets easily, even if they have an unsteady hand. The LR1200, though, often took our testers two to five attempts before they were able to notch an accurate reading.

On the other hand, the LR1200 does boast an impressive maximum range of 1,200 yards. That’s a big positive for competitive golfers. It also has that backlit LCD, a great feature for golfers who are taking their swings during the twilight hours. Finally, the LR1200 comes with a magnitude level of seven times.

Still, it’s hard for us to recommend the LR1200 over some of the rangefinder models now on the market. For instance, if you want to walk the course with a compact laser rangefinder, you’ll probably do better with the Bushnell Tour V2 or the Leupold GX-I. If you’re a golfer who’s more interested in effectiveness and ease of use, you’ll do better with the Bushnell PinSeeker 1500 or 1600.

In other words, the LR1200 is not a machine to look down on. It just doesn’t quite measure up to its competitors.

Life is full of endless elements like obligations, tasks, work must comply or moments of relaxation and distraction, which means we are seeking to escape the oppressive responsibilities required to win the world, so for this man has created a series of special sports with the elements of some risk sports. People will forget about everything under its adrenaline, because the realization of this kind of sport contains some unique risk characteristics, which makes them much more vibrant and exciting and such activities are risk sports.

One feature to notice that was introduced in most of the risk sports is that these sports are activities that have been created very recently, this is because most of the risk sports are modifications or derivations of sports classics, but will give some added values of risk. At present these sports have gained great popularity in the world because many companies all around the globe have encouraged risk sports, that in order to gain publicity, because these activities are usually televised. Another point that has contributed to the development of risk sports is the creation of new sports equipment, which allows them to be able to give the best position to make sport of this class. In addition, they are providing conditions that make possible the realization of extreme sports, bringing new opportunities and modalities of these activities.

Something that has always accompanied the risk sports is the Guinness Book of Records, which since its inception has always encouraged the practice of unusual and risky activities. One of the samples of better-known risk sports is skiing at extreme level, which is a derivative of skiing, the difference is the presence of certain conditions that provide a greater danger to those who participate, because the ski tip have to go skiing on new snow and departing from the peak of the mountains, which are inaccessible by land so we must use helicopters to climb up there then it must descend the mountain without the presence of any track and without knowing the terrain, another thing that adds difficulty is that such mountain stretches almost completely vertical. Another risk sport is already well-known and named as free-fall which is a sporting activity that arises as derivative of skydiving, the idea of risk in this sport is jumping from a high altitude and stay in power vacuum for several minutes, which is much more tough if you are launched in groups.
