It is very important if you have suffered a knee injury, that you do the correct rehabilitation. Knee ligament damage is very common, and there are many ways that you can injure them. First of all you need to understand the ligaments of the knee. We have the collateral ligaments, which support the lateral sides of the knee. These stop the movement from side to side. Then you have the cruciate ligaments, which form a cross inside the knee, and stop the knee from sliding backward and forward.

The next thing you should get your head around is how these get injured. There are different grades of strains, and depending on how bad it is, the number will be higher. They range from grade 1, which is just a slight strain, and you may not have many symptoms and should return back to activity quickly, to a grade 3, which is usually classified as a tear.
